MY DIY | Spray Painted Vase

3.14.2013
Today I had a minute to spray paint my recyclables (inspiration here) and add a few flowers from the corner bodega, and ta-da! My apartment was instantly brightened!  To get the look: Grab a group of bottle (I left the labels on), take outside, and spray with a primer and paint in one, two coats, let dry and add flowers.

  3. I've actually done something like this with old books! They look great on coffee tables and as book ends!

    1. I love these, too! Tried them a few months ago using a spray paint without a primer--a drippy mess! Any suggestions for ones that might work better? Is there a particular brand that's best for glass?

    2. Try the primer and spray paint in one, and spray a couple thin coats on from 6-12 inches away from the bottle

  13. Do you have a go to brand or type of primer and paint? Whenever I go to the craft store, the choices are overwhelming and I never know which is best to use.

    You have awesome ideas!

    1. I used a rustoleum primer and spray paint in one, but can not seem to find it online. This should work though:

Or look for the Krylon Primer and paint in one

  15. When I was moving into my dorm, in August, I had tons of bottles that I painted and made as jewellery holders and vases but the paint clumped up a lot cause I was too lazy to use spray paint (which is probably easier)! However, you can clearly see the difference with the spray paint and the regular paint! I'll be moving into an apartment and I'll be coming to your blog on a regular basis for DIY projects just like this! XX
