MY DIY | Quote Tote & Clutch

1.14.2013

What's not to love about Kate Spade's hashtag totes and clutches? I immediately had a crush, and wanted to make a DIY ode to them with craft-centric quotes. Why not have a little fun with fashion? If you have a witty saying for my next bag, leave a comment!

Supplies
Plasti-dip OR Acrylic Paint
Canvas clutch
Embroidered Iron-on letters
Rowenta Iron
Painters tape
Brush

How To
Mix your Plastic-Dip tints to create your desired color OR use acrylic paint (both have a similar result)
Tape off the bottom 2 inches of your bag, then paint
Let dry, then peel off the painters tape
Next lay down the embroidered letters to spell out your saying
Then place a pillow case on top of the letters and iron, let cool

  26. Nice tutorial! I like the idea of the hashtag phrases. I made a very similar tutorial for the Kate Spade "Eat Cake for Breakfast" totebag back in the Fall.
