MY DIY | Studded

11.05.2012

Everything is covered in studs! After buying a boatload of the round nailheads, I got to glueing and transformed a clutch, my flats, and the keychain that happened to be laying on the coffee table (I may have studded a jewelry bag too...)  A lot of the other DIYs I have seen use these studs where you need to pierce the leather with the prongs, but this process was quicker and holds just as good...and trust me, living in New York these shoes see a lot of miles. Check out how I wear them tomrw!

What you need:
Gold Round Nailheads
Leather Square Clutch
E600 Glue

Step-by-Step:
Dab a little glue on the back of your nailhead (make sure to get the E600 with the plastic nozzle, it speeds up the process)
Start in one corner and glue on studs, evenly spaced, around the perimeter of your bag
Let dry overnight

  20. GREAT IDEA, SOMEHOW I NEVER THOUGHT OF THOSE "FLAT" STUDS AND ONLY CHECKED THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY PIERCE EVERYTHING. REALLY LIKE BOTH OF YOUR CREATIONS!
