After a reader tweeted me about Plasti-dip, I immediately bought some and got to dippin'. After seeing these bold necklaces, I knew I wanted to create a half metal/half plastic version. I must admit that the plastic coating is some serious stuff and should only be handled by adults in a well ventilated area, but I was pretty stoked with the final product.

Supplies:
Plasti-dip and color tint
Chain necklace or bracelet
Aluminum can (I use one for peanuts, note that plastic will not work, the Plasti-dip will eat through it)
Plastic spoon

How To: 
Mix your first color by pouring 1/4 of the Plasiti-dip into the peanut container
Then add some coloring and mix with the spoon till you reach your desired color
Next dip your chain in, then let excess drip off for at least a minute
Continue to hold and let harden for 5 minutes
Before wearing, let sit overnight to completely dry.
Mix additional colors in a new container.

    4. Hi! I'm italian too, and I just find out that plasti-dip exist even in Italy! plastidip.it, it's really expensive (150€ for almost 4 lt of product) but it exists!! Check it out!

  7. Oh my God that's fantastic! But you live in New York and you have a place to find everything for you DIYs, I live in Lucca and I have no place to go! :( Poor me, I would like to DIY but I have no shop to go! :(

    1. www.stelladot.com/megkeane check out the sale tab- they have extenders on the necklaces that can be removed so it's like getting a necklace and bracelet for $30 or you can just wear the necklace longer!
