I Heart New York

11.09.2012

New York has been truly tested over the last couple weeks, and I was once again reminded of how resilient the city I have come to call home can be.  How people are willing to offer their apts when you are living without power, how the corner market stays open around the clock to make sure you have food and candles, and how people pull together to help those who have it much worst.
Yesterday, I spent the day walking around Manhattan, being a tourist in the city I've live in for the past 7 years.  Walking through parks, eating giant pretzels, staring up at the Empire State Building, and watching a city that was at a standstill just a week ago, back in full swing. I've decided to take more of these days, appreciate New York more, and share more of these little moments with you.

If you can, please donate to the Red Cross to help those still recovering from the storm.

  19. I think living in New Yorker as a transplant, you're always trying to go out of your way to not be touristy. I agree with you, we should take more time out to appreciate the city rather than just living and working. Thanks for the inspiration.
