Dying to hear what everyone thought of the fashion at the Oscars! Angelina's leg, too much? Emma Stone's dress, gorg but too reminiscent of Nicole Kidman? Rooney Mara, too simple or just simple enough?
I was scouring the red carpet for DIY inspiration and saw a couple embellished sleeve/waistband combinations that are not only DIYable, but could also be translated into a look appropriate outside of award season. My fave was definitely a tie between Emma Stone and Michelle Williams. I didn't think Emma was too much of a Nicole Kidman, and she always wows me lately. Rooney Mara's hair was the downfall of her look. At first I thought she was a waifish Jennifer Connelly. The severe hair with that pleated and sculpted origami style dress was too much to appreciate the entire look- I thought it was too overworked and not simple. Jessica Chastain, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ellie Kemper, J. Lo,and Viola Davis were also my faves. I'm a sucker for a good cut of a dress.

ReplyDeleteAll of these emebellished belts were so pretty and dainty, love. My favorites were Meryl Streep and Stacey Keibler's gold ensambles. I also loved Emma Stone's bow and all of the dapper men in bow ties, like Jonah Hill and Tom Hanks.

I absolutely loved Emma Stone in that dress, Angelina's leg was a bit much for my taste, but hey, to each thier own. But how about Octavia? I was so happy for her! And she looked stunning!
