[My DIY] Ball Drop Earrings

1.04.2012
White House Black Market Tank, Forever 21 Jacket similar here, DIY skirt

I started the year off the best way possible: Fantastic friends, some bubbly and a DIY outfit.
I wore my latest project, Ball Drop Earrings (seen in January's issue of InStyle
and feather skirt I sewed up for the evening (feathers from MJ Trimming).
I could not be more happy with how both turned out, and spent the evening dancing the night away!

Supplies: Earring hooks, pliers, two pieces of 1.5 inch chain, beads, and head pins

Thread a bead onto a head pin so that it rests on the flat end.
More steps, and New Year's photos (courtesy of Stripes and Sequins after the break)

Use the pliers to bend pins other end into a loop.

Slip the last link of a chain through the loop before closing it completely.

Slip other end of chain onto the earring hook. Use pliers to close it off.
Slip the other end of the chain onto the earring hook. Use the pliers to close it off.
Cheers to one of my faves, Nikki!

Happy New Years!

  10. Love that you made the skirt! I wore a similar one on New Years (on dearandi.wordpress.com) that probably cost like $400 and luckily got for free. Never would have thought to make it!!

  11. hey. I just read in an interview that you work at Instyle in New York. How did you get this job? Did you study fashion journalism?
