Dress from Zara, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, DIY earrings
Last week I had the amazing opportunity to take part in Today's DIY Week. I was beyond excited when they asked me to make a project to be featured on Today.com.  My fab friend Sonia saw a pair of earrings similar to these while shopping and suggested we do-it-ourselves! What I love is that you can try it with different size rhinestones and experiment with other colors/kinds of string, and it almost always turns out fantastic.
I have been sporting mine, and already have requests from my friends to make them a pair... I think it is time to plan a craft party ASAP!

Rachel Leigh for LOFT Cares Bow Bracelet
First off,  Happy Halloween weekend! I am dressing up as "Jenni from the Color Block". Get it, get it, Jennifer Lopez meets this season biggest trend...GET IT. We will see if it is lost on everyone I encounter.  And don't forget to enter the Chictopia contest, I am helping to pick the winner next week!

Second, two things are exciting about the above outfit photo:
A) I am wearing a limited edition Loft bracelet, and a portion of the proceeds from each sale go to breast cancer research (more info here).  And check out the bracelet designed by one of my faves, Jessica!
B) I am holding my latest DIY for InStyle magazine, a Prada inspired painted clutch. I must say I have been wearing this bad boy EVERYWHERE, and it was a mainstay during Fashion Week.  These bags are honestly so easy to paint, and they always get a ton of attention. So if you see a color combo, runway look, or celeb outfit you love, I encourage you to translate it to a pattern, trace on to a bag, and do-it-yourself!

[my DIY] Bungee Cord bracelets

10.16.2011
While in the fashion closet at work last week, I came across these fun bungee cord bracelets, and of course I was inspired to make my own! With a quick trip to Home Depot I found the supplies for a couple of dollars. I am a fan of wearing a stack OR the other night, when I had some friends over, I made one for each (including a guy friend!) and they have been wearing solo.
Rebecca Minkoff bag, H&M scarf,  Dress from random store in Soho

[my DIY] Leather Ring bracelet

10.03.2011
Last Friday, I teamed up with Rebecca Minkoff to DIY at Henri Bendel. We nibbled on cake pops, ogled over the bags (a couple of my faves) and made these faux leather ring bracelets.
Supplies: Scissors, snaps and faux leather from M&J Trimming, ring, superglue
DIYing with a couple readers in the window of Henri Bendel. Loved meeting so many fantastic ladies who love to craft. Make sure to tweet pics of your bracelets at me!  More party pics and steps after the break.
