[My DIY] Hurricane Bracelets

8.28.2011
In an attempt to grab hold of the last moments of summer, and to kill time while stuck indoors during the hurricane this weekend, my friends and I got together to make old school bracelets. Once we got started it was like riding a bike, and each only took about an hour. I am a fan of rocking a them with a bright watch, or mixing one with a wrist of mixed metal.
Supplies: Gimp, or Lester lace as we called in back in the day, from Blick Art (less then $2 a roll), scissors, and a fastener. Steps after the break...

[My DIY] DVF waist bag

8.14.2011
Diane von Furstenberg from Style.com
With nonstop rain on Sunday, I wanted a way to stay stylish while running around the town, and remembered the waist bags from DVF's runway. The updated...dare I say it... fanny pak, is the perfect way to carry your keys, phone, credit cards and lipgloss hands free and shielded from the rain.
A pencil case, craft pouch, or makeup bag will work!

Supplies: Case from H&M, carabiner, gluegun, chain, ribbon.

[my DIY] Nautical Necklace

8.07.2011
With a tripped planned for Philly this weekend, I wanted to make a nautical inspired necklace fit to wear by water. After wandering the aisles of Home Depot, I found the perfect copper piping pieces to combine with rope to create the look. And finished it off with a pop of blue!
American Apparel top, F21 palazzo pants, thrifted bag, DIY bracelets and necklace
Supplies: Glue gun, copper piping and carabiner (Hope Depot), Thick rope and thin leather rope (M&J Trimming)
Step-by-step after the break...
