The weather is officially getting colder, and hands down, my favorite thing about Fall/Winter is throwing on a scarf to any and every outfit. When Joyce Azria, the Creative Director of BCBGeneration, sent me this DIY idea, I jumped at the chance it do-it-myself.
The final look is an amazing addition to any outfit. Pair it with a chucky knit sweater over a striped dress, or trousers and trench.
First, cut off the back pockets of your jeans, Including the back of your jean, so the pockets are functional. The rest of the steps after the break...
Place the pockets on the end of your scarf to determine where you would like each to lay.
Next stitch the inside of the pocket to the scarf. I did a small stitch across the top, and a looser stitch down the bottom and sides.
Warm you hands or keep your cell phone in the pockets!

Love this! Super convenient for cold-day walks - no need to grab a purse.

I love how cute and functional this is! I have no chunky scarves lying around, but I'll definitely be putting pockets on something in the near future.

What a clever idea. Not necessary to buy jeans. Just dig out an old pair not used.

Ah, this is genius! We have so much snow and I hate how I ruin my jackets by having my hands in my pockets all the time ( refuse to wear mitts, not idea why).
ReplyDeleteSuper cute and so clever!! I really think you are the most genius DIY'er!!

I remember having a scarf like this when I was little but it just had a pocket woven on. I think this is a great idea for those who can't knit! Plus it makes use of some old denim :)
