DIY Twig Terrarium

Soooo I have officially reached a new level of obsession with terrariums that is beginning to confuse/trouble my friends.  But how can I NOT sprend the word about these tiny ecosystems in a jar. I had a fantastic time making this one with the wonderful ladies of Twig and Design Sponge at the Brooklyn Flea this weekend. After the class I wandered around the flea and had the best time chatting with vintage venders and buying xmas goodies (and a vintage pair of glasses for myself). It was a stellar Sat morn to say the least!  If you are looking for a last min gift, I highly recommend you purchase this DIY kit asap.
Ok Ok, friends, I will stop obsessing.

[inspiration] A Pair & A Spare

Wowza this week flew by while standing still at the same time.
I was out and about every night hence the lack of posts...BUT I am stoked about a DIY Terrarium class I am going to tomrw, and will be sure to document the occasion. In the meantime, it is crucial that you devour every image on my fave blog for  project inspiration, A Pair and A Spare. The site is chock-full of brill ideas and fantastic step-by-steps. Above are a few you much check out: Leather Collar, Tassel Earrings, Cutout shirt, and Celine-inspired pockets.
Happy Friday!!!

[the naked bartender]

Tricia of the Fashion Herald, Amy of Midtown Girl, Me doing an awkward Vanna White,
Jordana of Clutch 22, and Nikki

Tonight the lovely Jordana invited my friend Nikki and I to the Stirrings Naked Bartender Party where we sipped some delish cocktails poured by the v. cute Naked Bartender, and chatted with some fantastic ladies. My feather top was officially a hit, and I think I inspired a couple people to try out their own feather DIY. Preaching the do-it-yourself word every chance I get!

[sunglasses]

Just a little something I whipped up with my friend Jules for
"Full Time Fab" Sunglass Hut contest. Sadly, they gave it the giant rejection stamp because the song was copyright material and legal jargon, legal jargon, legal jargon... I thought I would share it anyway, because sunglasses are fantastic and so are FRIDAYS!!! (and I thought everyone might need a break from feathers)

Sidenote: I have had a couple people tell me that they are doing DIY project for Xmas presents! SO HAPPY TO HEAR! If you do the same, send a pic, would love to see what you make!

[feather sweatshirt]

Following up with my current feather obsession, I added a little sumthin' sumthin' to this heather grey sweatshirt and am tickled with the results. I love how a simple alteration can turn a basic article of clothing into a statement piece. I ALSO love that this is an affordable way to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe with minimal commitment. WIN WIN, riiiight? I picked up this sweatshirt top at Forever21 and the feather trimming from M&J, and used my trusty glue glue to attach to the collar. Tip: make sure the hole is large enough to fit over your head bc the feather trim does not stretch.
So jazzed to wear this tomorrw, I will make sure to post some outfit pics this week!
